Why should we choose a professional portrait photographer?
We pride ourselves on creating photographs that represent your sense of style while maintaining a classic look.
Our photographers know that technical ability is crucial to working with light. They pride themselves on producing creative and images that stand out from the crowd.
Our photographers are masters at capturing all of the candid and spontaneous moments. They also have the ability to adapt to their surroundings and understanding that each family is unique.
Our team is able to create images that are composed while staying away from stiff posing or dull detail. We are committed to natural beauty and photographic perfection.
Making you feel at ease is our top priority. We help to guide you through the shoot to achieve the best results.
How much does a portrait session cost?
Our portrait sessions are $497. Wall portraiture & other products vary. We create art of your family you can display in your home. Depending on the size, style, and frame that works with your furnishings, we help you find a package that works with your budget.
Can you come to our home for portraits?
Of course. Hope Spring Photography aims to capture you and your loved ones in a comfortable environment. During initial consultation, we'll work with you to determine the best place to achieve your desired results.
What should we wear and bring to our portrait session?
It's not everyday a professional portrait studio captures your family's moments. For this reason it is important to prepare for your session. Here are some tips to help you prepare for clothing:
• We recommend choosing classic clothing that will remain timeless in your photographs.
• Plain clothing without logos works well. Try to avoid heavily patterned clothing and stripes as this can date.
• Wear colors that compliment each other. For example you can all wear bright colors.
• Neutral colors and denim work well.
• Minimal makeup has a greater longevity in photographs.
Studio or Location? Which is best for a portrait?
There are many locations to consider. We always suggest a place that means something to your family, from a favorite park or backyard to your favorite vacation spot. Make it a location that reflects your family's personality and style, be it the beach or mountains or a lake.
Some families like the formality of a traditional backdrop in a studio setting or classic black and white photograph created in the studio. We excel at creating these types of images as well.
What is the best time of day for our portrait session?
For location portraits, late afternoon and early evening light creates some of the most dramatic yet flattering light.
Studio portraits are great all day long. We are flexible and can do early evening and weekend appointments to accommodate your family's busy schedule.
When & How can I see our portraits?
We arrange a time for you to come see your portraits at a viewing appointment at the studio, about two weeks after your portrait session.
At this time, we will help you select the images that best represent your family. We also help you decide what size, style, & products work best to accent your home.
This process take approximately 1-2 hrs. Feel free to bring your partner to make this important family investment decision. However, it's best that this is a child free appointment.
Prior to your viewing appointment, we will give you some tips on how to prepare.
Do you go on Location?
Yes, we love to. We would love to go to your favorite weekend destination or vacation sport, be it the Pacific Beaches, San Juan Islands, Chelan, the Cascades, or any other spot in the Northwest or even Hawaii, we are there.
Will we meet before the wedding?
We would love to meet with you before your wedding. We can discuss who the important people are in your wedding, the schedule, and any important details or visions you have for your special day.
Often times this can be done on the day of your engagement session for those that choose an engagement portrait as part of their package.
How would you describe your style?
Our style is often described as natural and journalistic in nature. We capture your day as it unfolds: the quiet moments, stunning details, personalities, and, most importantly, you as a couple. From the spontaneous kiss to the unexpected touch, we capture it all to tell your love story.
Though we are journalistic in nature, we can create classic portraits of family and the wedding party that everyone always desires.
How can friends and family see our photographs?
We create personalized online galleries for family and friends to choose and view images for themselves. These are available 3 weeks after the wedding. But don't worry, you get to see them first.
Do you travel for destination weddings?
Yes. We are frequently commissioned to photograph weddings in France, Greece, New York, Hawaii, the Caribbean and Mexico. Call about travel expenses and arrangements.
How many photographers come to our wedding?
We come with two wedding photographers, if not more, depending on the size of the wedding. We want to capture all the classic & spontaneous moments of the day. That requires at least two photographers to capture different viewpoints that ensure your story is told completely.
Why does personality matter in choosing my wedding photographer?
When you are selecting your wedding photographer, it is more than for just your wedding day. Often times you will be working with them for a year or more, from your engagement portraits to designing your finished albums.
Personality matters. We love our clients and know that each has a unique viewpoint and vision. We pride ourselves in being adaptable to your needs. Whether the moment requires spontaneity or seriousness, we can help set the tone to capture your day the way you desire.
What can I do with all my images?
Creating unique heirloom keepsake albums is one of our strong points. They come in all shapes and sizes, from leather to silk, embossed or boxed. We help you choose the right one for you.
Often times, couples want signature wall portraits to furnish their first home. We provide color or classic black and white images with frames, to compliment your portraits.
There is no end to the array of finished keepsakes we can create.
